FAQs
What is OMM/NMM?
Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) is a hands-on treatment approach used by Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs) to diagnose and treat neuromusculoskeletal issues by restoring normal function and promoting the body’s natural healing. Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (NMM), often combined with OMM as a specialty (ONMM), involves advanced training in managing disorders of the musculoskeletal system and related structures using osteopathic principles and manipulative techniques
Why choose OMM?
It uses a whole-body approach to identify and treat the root causes of dysfunction. OMM uses techniques such as stretching, resistance and gentle pressure to relieve pain, improve function, and support the body’s ability to heal itself. Treatment is tailored to each patient’s needs, lifestyle, and condition.
What conditions can be treated?
OMT is beneficial for a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to:
- back and neck pain
- joint and muscle problems
- headaches and migraines
- postural and gait imbalances
- sports injuries
- sciatica and nerve pain
What to expect?
During your New Patient appointment, your physician will spend time with you in a calm, comfortable setting. We prioritize listening to your story to fully understand your health history, lifestyle, and current symptoms, which is essential for personalized care.Afterward, your physician will conduct a thorough physical exam to identify any injuries or restrictions affecting your comfort or function. This helps us create a tailored treatment plan. Our Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) techniques, including gentle adjustments and manipulations, aim to restore balance, relieve pain, and improve mobility—supporting your body’s natural healing. If indicated, we can also discuss additional treatments offered (i.e. injections such as prolotherapy, steroids, trigger point, and more). Follow-up visits will focus on hands-on osteopathic treatment. At Bode Well, we are dedicated to compassionate, effective care that addresses the root causes of your health concerns and promotes your overall well-being.
How much does a visit cost?
New Patient Appointments – $199
Follow-Up Appointments – $150
The cost for procedures like Dry Needling, Trigger point, Steroid, and Prolotherapy injections etc. can be discussed if it is a good fit for you during your appointment.
We accept payment at the end of each appointment. We also can give you a Superbill that you can submit to insurance after each appointment.
How often do I need to come?
When it comes to osteopathic treatment, it’s important to understand that immediate relief is not always guaranteed, especially for pains or conditions that are more chronic in nature. Some issues develop over time and require a gradual approach to healing.Your treatment plan will be tailored specifically to your individual needs, taking into account the nature and severity of your condition. Your osteopath will work closely with you to determine the appropriate frequency of visits, which may vary as your treatment progresses. This personalized approach ensures that you receive the most effective care possible, with adjustments made along the way to support your recovery and well-being. Expect a collaborative process where the number and timing of visits are designed to best support your long-term health rather than quick fixes. Ultimately, it’s up to you!
Welcome to your next step towards good health.
We offer flexibility, which can adapt to the different needs of each person.
